About me: Who is Marta Bretó?

Since I was very young, I have always felt deeply attracted to nature and art. Perhaps that is why, after finishing my art studies, I went to live in the Pyrenees, where I trained as a low and medium mountain guide. During my stay in the Aran Valley, I began to feel drawn to photography as a way of capturing images and sharing the beauty of the natural world with others. That is how I ended up training as a professional photographer through a university degree, which I completed in 2014. It was then that I decided to combine everything I loved (art, nature, and photography) and make it my way of life, both personally and professionally.

Throughout my career as a professional photographer, I have created projects that have resulted in books, exhibitions, and audiovisual documentaries. I have led more than 30 photography trips to places such as Scotland, Iceland, Poland and Sweden, and I have connected with hundreds of students with whom I have shared knowledge and unforgettable experiences.

In 2018, together with my partner Tato Rosés, I created INDOMITUS, a project that combines our passion for the wild, both personally and professionally. Through INDOMITUS, we share our expeditions into the wild with the world and offer photographic experiences that have a positive impact on both the participants and the wildlife and the natural and social environment in which they take place.

“Take nothing but photographs. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time.” Anonymous.

When I carry out my projects, whether personal or commissioned, I try to do everything possible to treat the environment, flora, and fauna with the respect they deserve. This means that no plants have been uprooted, no landscapes have been dirtied, and the peace of the fauna has not been disturbed. Unless otherwise specified, all my photographs have been taken in natural settings and without any kind of captivity. In the same way, I try to convey this respect to potential viewers of my work.
